Kepala MIN 2 Model Palembang Budiman mengatakan, guru harus tegas kepada siswa. Hal itu agar siswa tidak mempermainkan dan melecehkan guru. Namun, dibalik ketegasannya, guru juga harus tetap mengayomi para siswa. Hal ini juga penting agar siswa tidak merasa takut.
"Guru harus tegas saat siswa melanggar aturan. Supaya aturan itu dihormati dan siswa tidak mengulanginya lagi. Baik yang disengaja ataupun tidak supaya siswa ingat," kata Budi saat ditemui di kantornya, Rabu (3/2)
Menurutnya, ketegasan guru adalah dalam arti penegakan disiplin secara konsisten dan komitmen. Guru harus menunjukan sikap tegas pada situasi yang tepat. Misalnya, ketika siswa dengan sengaja tidak mengerjakan tugas, merusak fasilitas madrasah/sekolah dan lain sebagainya.
"Tegas bukan berarti marah-marah dengan suara keras atau menyakiti. Tapi, guru mengambil tindakan seperti menasehati, memberi hukuman yang positif dan penyelesaian yang benar," lanjutnya
Selain tegas katanya, guru juga harus memiliki sifat mengayomi atau menyayangi. Guru harus mengayomi semua siswa termasuk yang sering berbuat salah atau pelanggar aturan. Dalam mengayomi, guru tidak boleh memihak kepada salah satu siswa atau sekelompok siswa tertentu.
Guru harus memperlakukan siswanya secara adil. Meski mereka memiliki berbagai latar belakang dan karakter yang berbeda. Guru harus mampu meluruskan akhlak siswa yang kurang baik. Inilah tantangan guru dalam membentuk karakter siswa. (Teguh)

According to him, the firmness of the teacher is in the sense of enforcing consistent discipline and commitment. Teachers must demonstrate a firm stance on the exact situation. For example, when the students deliberately did not do the work, destroying madrassa / school and so forth.
"Decisive not mean grumpy loud or hurt. But, the teachers take actions such as advising, punishing a positive and correct solutions," he added
Besides firmly said, teachers must have a nurturing nature or love. Teachers must protect all students, including the often err or offenders. In the shelter, the teacher should not be partial to one particular student or group of students.
